About GeoSnoop

Who makes GeoSnoop

GeoSnoop is made by Polling Inc. (doing business as GeoSnoop), 22604 La Alameda STE 260, Mission Viejo, CA, United States. It answers one question: where was this photo taken?

How it works, in short

GeoSnoop compares what is in a photo with hundreds of millions of photos from around the world whose location is known, and shows the places that fit best, each with its chance. It works from the pixels alone. More on how it works

How we handle your photos

• Your photos, and frames taken from videos you choose (the video itself never leaves your device), and their location metadata (such as GPS) are kept to run GeoSnoop and to check and improve its accuracy; this website deletes its copies after 30 days. Location metadata isn't used to make the guess.
• Your results are private: only your browser or your account can open them, and they are never shown to search engines.
• No advertising cookies or trackers. Analytics (Statcounter) run only if you allow them. Payments go through Stripe; we never see your card.

Responsible use

Everyone agrees, before anything is uploaded, not to use GeoSnoop to stalk, harass, track or surveil anyone. How we guard against misuse
